Michele Rizzo will present the research project Higher, which has been developed within the last year also through a series of workshops (for SNDO intensive course and for Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet at Mediamatic Gallery). Higher is a research project on the phenomenon of dancing in clubs and raves.

Philosopher Julia Kristeva once said: "As to be human embraced political, sexual, religious, familiar identity, we are undergoing a time of major identity crises. We need to find a language that transcends the human in order to overcome such crises and awake a new Renaissance. This language can be dance". Michele Rizzo explores this cathartic power of dance as a choreographic potential (technical and political, with various techniques, styles and influences like Gabber, Techtonik and Hard Style), as a social dance and as a form of catharsis and celebration.
