The endless journey in search of connection begins by taking the first step

Are our worlds really so different, or do we have more in common than we thought? That question is central to the autobiographical performance REMLA. Propelled by music from the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra, dancers Redouan Ait Chitt and Denden Karadeniz - well known in the world of hip hop & breaking - go in search of connection. That search starts with taking the first step, with their roots as the starting point. They are coached artistically by Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten.

ABOUT THE MAKERS
Internationally renowned breakdancer Redo won the Swan for 'most impressive dance achievement' in 2019. In addition, he was ranked first in The Community Top 100 and received a Royal Award in 2020 for encouraging many young people, including people with disabilities, to take up dance.

Denden Karadeniz is known from TV programs such as The Ultimate Dance Battle, So You Think You Can Dance and Time to Dance. He is also the artistic director of the urban contemporary dance company Zero Dance Theatre.

The Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra (AAO) focuses on the connection between the historical Andalusia and its meaning for our world today. The AAO plays various forms of music from Granada to Baghdad from various time periods and styles on an international level. They also have several successful theater productions to their name, including ZIEL|ROUH, Jihad van Love and Hoe Ik Talent Voor Het Leven Kreeg.
