Fernando Belfiore

Fernando Belfiore (Brazil, 1983) completely avoids theater as an illusion box but seeks for magic. Also, he does not work with dance as a combination of set movements one after the other but as precise sculptural tasks and actions to transform the space and the mind, we are set in. He is searching for the extraordinary within the earthly.

He is a regular teacher of movement research at SNDO from which he graduated in 2011. Since graduating he has been artist-in-residence at Dansmakers Amsterdam and he was guest artist of ICK for two years. He is currently part of DANSCO, a nomadic structure for artistic exchange and production. During his time at ICK, he toured his solo Al13FB<3, which was selected to Aerowaves TopTwenty 2016, and he created a new group work D3US/X\M4CHIN4 (2016).
