Flamenco MASTERCLASS by Manuel Linán

in collaboration with Flamenco Biennale

Manuel Liñán
On 11 December, dancer, choreographer and artist Manuel Liñán comes to the Netherlands and honours us with a unique 3-hour Flamenco Workshop.

Born in Granada in 1980, Liñán breaks international boundaries with his stimulating gender-transcending shows. Despite his father's wish to become a bullfighter, Liñán followed his passion for dance. He studied with legendary dancers like Manolete and Mario Maya, choreographed for prestigious companies, and received the Spanish National Dance Award in 2017. He made his Dutch debut in 2017 with the performance Reversible at the VI Flamenco Biennale. In his most recent work, "VIVA!!", Liñán takes his exploration of gender and identity in flamenco to new heights. "VIVA!!" is an exuberant cry for freedom of movement, an ode to the polyphony of the body.

Flamenco Workshop is open to intermediate, advanced and professional dancers, but need not have experience in flamenco.
